TPG Architecture designed the offices of an asset management firm, located in New York City, New York.
The client retained TPG for full architectural services for the relocation of their corporate offices from 65 East 55th Street constituting approximately 46,616 SF to 70,233 SF of rentable area among three floors at 520 Madison Avenue. In addition to their new workspace, TPG designed an interconnecting stair to stimulate collaboration and innovation. The client underwent extensive growth in NYC as well as globally, and has nearly tripled in size since move in.
The challenge was to restack the existing one and a half floors to three full floors with less private offices, and consistently sized benching stations in the open area.
Success of the design and flow of the new space were highly dependent on getting the departmental adjacencies right, both vertically & horizontally.
The opportunity was to create a contemporary, sophisticated new environment, while still making it look timeless and modest.
The design impact provided opportunities for informal meetings and huddle spaces to encourage collaboration and support the dynamic departmental relationships with increased headcount and enlarged floor plates. Connectivity between contiguous floors is desired to stimulate collaboration and efficiency.
